Kuria community in Migori county is deeply divided over governor Ochillo Ayacko job allocation in his administration ahead of 2027 general elections.
Angry members and elders from the Rangacha sub-clan have accused Ayacko and Kuria West MP Mathias Robi of favouring the Watende sub-clan in job allocation out if the larger Bugumbe clan.
In the meeting at Masaba area, angry elders said people from Rangacha have been sidelined by Ayacko and his administration and said they will shift their political alliance ahead of 2027 general elections.

“As people from Rangacha we are crying and complaining we sometimes feel that the governor may not be aware or our complaints, but please let this message reach before we kill him in 2027 with our votes,” Serema Chacha, an elder said.
Bugumbe elders said after Charles Chacha a member of Rangacha was fired was Water and Energy Chief Officer they sat down in recent five vacancies and gave Ayacko several members from the clan who applied for the job.
“When we campaigned for Ayacko we complained as members of Rangacha that we have never been in government, both national and county, and we rejoiced when Chacha was appointed,” Chacha said.
But angry members said despite several members of Rangacha clan being shortlisted and went for interview at Migori County Public Service Board they were shocked when Robi, a Watende member pushed through former Tagare MCA and Minority leader Nicholas Ngabia to be shortlisted.
“We have a list of ten senior members from Bugumbe, from MP, an ambassador, two Bugumbe MCAs, four CDF staff and county officers from Watende sub-clan, we want to ask Ayacko if Rangacha people don’t go to toilet to shit? Are we not supposed to eat?,” Steven Nyamohanga.
The angry members also complained that bursary from both national and county government they are always sidelined.
Jackson Nyadonge and Fungua Wakoanga said they had a meeting before and after applications in the county and hoped Ayacko will come around and have a sit down with them over their grievances ahead of 2027 polls.
