School heads in county warned of marauding conmen

People purporting to be the ministry of Education officials have been calling head teachers of public primary schools conning them of substantial amount of money.

The conmen were operating in technical way persuading head teachers that Laptops donated to their schools are lying at the ministry headquarters and need to organize for transport to have them delivered to their learning institutions.

The conmen purporting to be based at the headquarters have conned several head teachers in Rongo Sub-County and were instructing them not to tell others of the deal due to unspecified reasons.

Rongo Sub-County KEPSA chairman Isaiah Odongo has advised teachers to ignore and report such cases to relevant authority for action to be taken immediately.

The heads association body has directed teachers to be wary of sinister characters spotted in their midst and alert relevant authorities for action to be taken.

Odongo appealed to teachers and education stakeholder to report such cases immediate to enable law enforcers swing into action to arrest the culprits.

He said teachers should be alert all times and not allow themselves to be victims of such dirty games as members of the public will not accept to hear that many of them are victims of conman ship.

Last year the such people were calling Principal of well-established institutions conning them that articles tarnishing image of their institutions had been intercepted in the internet and demanded between sh.20,000 to 25,000 to be sent urgently to ignore its publication in print media.
