A livid political activist from Nyatike today treated Migori county government workers to a free drama when he was denied his dues for “treating the ground” for governor Okoth Obado.

It’s alleged the man had been contacted to treat the ground ahead of a funeral today and functions in Nyatike subcounty today.

Sources privy to the arrangement told Migori News that the distraught man had been promised Sh200,000 to treat the ground oblivious of the impeding turn of events.

Sure of getting the money back, the livid man who is considered close to Obado in the ground used his own money hopeful of a refund.

The man was shocked when he was only given Sh200 and told to go away prompting him to go berserk.

It is then that the obviously enraged man began spilling the beans on the dealings that led to the deal.

“It is we who fight your wars on the ground. We try to make the ground hospitable the time you are around in different places and this is not easy,” he yelled.

He said he wanted a refund for his money on the spot shouting down guards who tried to clam him down before he was whisked away.

The incident brings to fore the recent Cord leader raila Odinga visit in Migori town where Obado was booed in Awendo and Migori towns by youths despite money being availed to treat the ground.

After the incident insiders said the governor read a riot act to affected officers and even promised to change them.

Some went ahead to release the money they had to been given to safeguard their jobs.
