Nyatike police have launched a manhunt for a pastor attached to Roho Msalaba church who has gone into hiding in connection of murder to a man in a torrid love triangle.
Shock gripped Osiri villagers after Tobias Oyoo was found murdered dead in a gold mine after he confronted the preacher Fred Ochieng’ making out with his wife in a bush.
According to Osiri area chief David Oula, Oyoo had moved all the way from Sori town 30 kilometers away after he was alerted that his wife was spotted with the preacher.
The two had a prolonged marital problem.
“Oyoo and his wife had just solved their marital problem at my office and were to move back home. The woman affair with the suspect was the main problem in the marriage,” Oula told Migori News.
The wife was to go back home on Wednesday after they deceased had sent money to his mother in law on Tuesday before the unfortunate incident.
Oula said the two men started fighting and the woman ran away without raising any alarm. She later reported the matter to the chief’s office.
“When police arrived at the scene they found an abandoned motorbike used by the deceased and upon investigation found him in the mine. His skull was open from impact of falling through sharp rocks,” Oula said.
He said the three knew each other well as they were from the same church with the woman having affair with the suspect who was her neighbour.
“She was top go back to her matrimonial home in Sori, but currently is being held at Macalder police station while the body has been taken to Migori Referral Hospital morgue,” he said.
