A section of Kisii University College students from Migori town campus demonstrate against calls to close their institution
The Migori campus of Kisii university have been petitioned over tribal employment by North Kanyamkago MCA George Omamba.
Omamba said the assembly will send away the top management of the campus for not employing locals as only 17 are employed while 36 are from the Kisii tribe.
Omamba said the petition will be discussed by assembly tomorrow (Tuesday) insisting the campus has “violated the constitution that stipulated that 70 percent of the employees must be locals while non-locals take 30 percent.”
The petition has been supported by Youth nominated MCA John Kennedy and North Kamagambo MCA Richard who said the university must give the fist consideration to the locals as Migori has enough qualified personnel.
