The Kuria West sub-county education day was celebrated last Friday at Nyabohanse Girls Secondary School where results were officially released by area education officer Robert Onkoba.

No student in the sub-county got an A plain in last year’s national examinations. Chemistry and English didn’t also get an A plain.

Only 60 students got a direct entry into universities with 8 A-, 46 B+ and 123 B Plain.

Dr. Pamella Abuya, who was the guest speaker the results was dismal because while Kuria West couldn’t produce plain A, other schools like Kanga and Ulanda had 100s between them.

The sub-county has 93 public and 45 private primary schools with a total of 41,400 students. In secondary schools there are 30 public and 6 private with a student population of 7,800.

Last year 3,605 primary school pupils sat for KCPE and got a 256.74 mean score while 1,544 sat for KCSE where they got 4.96 mean score.
