VACANCIES
Migori County Public Service Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions as per the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and the County Government Act No.17 of 2012.

ICT OFFICER, NETWORK ADMINISTRATION, JG “K”: – ONE(1) POST REF: MCPSB 110/2015

(a) Duties and responsibilities:
1. Identify causes of network failure, utilize test procedures and establish diagnostic aids and take remedial actions to minimize system down-time;
2. Undertaking analysis and correcting basic network problems;
3. Install and support LAN, WAN network segments, internet and intranet systems;
4. Maintaining network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection, antivirus software, routing systems and other network management systems;
5. Administer servers, desktops computers, printers, routers, switches and firewalls;
6. Configuring workstations hardware and software for network operations;
7. Designing, installing and maintaining LAN/WAN, virtual private networks and wifi networks and their interoperability;
8. Supervise the administration of systems and servers related network to ensure availability of services to authorized users.
9. Carrying out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

(b) Requirements for appointments

1. Be a holder of Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science or related field from a recognized university;
2. Minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in IT environment especially with network capacity planning, network security principles and other general network environment;
3. Possession of a relevant Network Administration Certification e.g. CCNA or CCNE;
4. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

(c) Terms of Service: Permanent/Contract

2. Hand delivered applications should be dropped at the offices of the Migori County Public Service Board located at Msomi Teachers’ College in Migori County.

3. All applications should reach the Chairman Migori County Public Service Board on or before Friday 21st August, 2015.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be required to produce their original Identity Cards, Academic and Professional Certificates and testimonials.
5. For candidates to meet the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010, applicants must obtain the following clearance:
 Tax Compliance Certificate from KRA
 Clearance Certificate from HELB
 Clearance Certificate from Ethics and Anticorruption Commission (EACC)
 Certificate of Good Conduct from Criminal Investigation Department (CID)
