Music, entertainment and free sampling of Coca-Cola’s Charged drink light up Nyanza counties

BY NYANZA NEWS REPORTER

Residents across the Nyanza region are enjoying music, entertainment and free sampling of Coca-Cola’s newly launched Charged energy drink as the company rolls out activations across the lakeside counties.

The colourful campaign is currently taking place in Kisumu, Homa Bay, Siaya, Migori, Kisii and Nyamira counties, bringing together hardworking residents, including fishermen, farmers, traders and young people, for interactive experiences built around Coca-Cola’s latest sparkling caffeinated beverage.

The activations feature live entertainment, music performances, dance sessions and free product tasting as consumers get an opportunity to experience Charged, which entered the Kenyan market last month.

Charged is Coca-Cola’s newest entry into the growing energy drinks market and comes in two flavours — Lemon Burst and Electric Pineapple. The drink combines sparkling refreshment with caffeine to provide consumers with an energising boost during the day.

For many residents in Nyanza who spend long hours fishing in Lake Victoria, working on farms, running businesses or managing busy daily schedules, the new beverage is being positioned as a refreshing companion to keep them going.

The Coca-Cola Company said the product was introduced in Kenya following successful launches in countries such as India, Nepal, Vietnam and South Africa.

Speaking during the Kenyan launch, Coca-Cola Kenya Director of Frontline Marketing Monique Katana said the company was focused on offering consumers beverages that match changing lifestyles and tastes.

“We are excited to introduce Charged to Kenya, offering consumers the fuel they need to maximise each day,” said Ms Katana.

“This launch highlights The Coca-Cola Company’s dedication to innovation and our mission to provide a diverse range of beverages that meet the evolving tastes and lifestyles of our consumers,” she added.

To support the launch, The Coca-Cola Company and its authorised bottler, Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Kenya, have rolled out activations across the country aimed at connecting with consumers through engaging experiences.

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa in Kenya General Manager James Bowmaker said the new drink is designed to appeal to energetic young consumers looking for bold flavours and refreshment.

“Charged delivers bold new flavours designed to resonate with younger consumers, offering a refreshing way to fuel their day,” said Mr Bowmaker.

The drink’s packaging features a thunderbolt-inspired design that reflects the brand’s energetic identity and helps it stand out on retail shelves.

Charged is currently available in 330ml bottles in supermarkets, shops and retail outlets across the country.
