Homa Bay county has 40 wards spread across 8 constituencies and in the August 2022 general elections, voters elected their Members of County Assembly.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) reaped big by nominating all 14 MCAs in the 2022-27 Homa Bay assembly for being the only party to elect members in August 2022 general elections.

Homa Bay, a county among the six under Nyanza News special coverage zone, has 40 wards out of which the ODM party swept through 32 seats and the rest going for Independent candidates

Homa Bay is among six counties in the former Nyanza Province under special coverage of Nyanza News.

It covers an area of  3,155 square kilometres with Homa Bay town being her headquarters.
