Migori governor Okoth Obado has urged women in the county to come out in large numbers and vie in the 2022 general elections.

He said n 2013 general election Migori only had one elected female MCA out of 40 wards, in last polls it jumped to three.

“I expect to have at least ten in next polls, this will help reduce burden on tax payers by having fewer nominations slots,” Obado said.

He said in his cabinet executives Sheila Ghati, Rebbeca Maroa and others have declared political interests.

“If they were here they could have stated their interest, i encourage others like Isca Oluoch to also declare interest,” Obado said.

He said Migori Woman Representative Pamela Odhiambo and nominated MP Dennitah Ghati should help other female aspirants in the next polls for election.

“There is no seat which is out of bounds for Migori female leaders, including the presidency,” he said.
