Police in Uriri sub-county saved a man from a family lynch mob after he was accused of killing a relative through black magic.
The suspect was attacked and his properties torched by family members, area Chief John Ojwang confirmed.
“The suspect in his thirties had his properties, including clothes and bedding among other things, burnt. He narrowly escaped their wrath,” Ojwang’ said.
The administrator said they are yet to establish the veracity of allegations levelled against the man as probe is still on.
Ojwang said the man fled to an unknown destination, but that they’re optimistic he will come out and record his statement with the police.
