Grief has engulfed two villagers in Kuria East sub-county on Sunday after two people were killed in two separate incidences.
Mwita Matinde, 40, from Biasumu was stabbed to death by a neighbor after his donkey bite his assailant’s wife.
The killer, identified as Nkori Chacha, took his machete and attacked the deceased after his wife came home wailing after being bitten by the donkey.
Area chief Mwita Nyamasege confirmed the incident to Migori News.
In a separate incident, Maara Nyaikobe, 28, from Getongoroma was killed by his cousin Mwita Karege after they quarreled over ownership of family cattle.
The Area chief Nyamosae Obosi told Migori News that after the two disagreed during a traditional ceremony to bring peace, Karege went home picked a spear and pierced home his cousin’s stomach.
“They had just been arguing over cattle while in the ceremony when the suspect rushed to his house and came out with a spear and stabbed him in the stomach.” said Obosi.
Kuria East OCPD, Osman Omar said the two suspects have escaped towards Tanzania with a manhunt on as the bodies were taken to Pastor Machage Memorial Hospital mortuary.
