Police in Kamagambo police station are pursuing a theft case at Kodero bara primary school in Rongo sub county in Migori county which was yesterday broken into and text books worth ksh 100,000 and other learning materials stolen.

The theft, according to the head teacher, Mr.Enock Ngoje said the thieves seemed to have broken into the office at night without the knowledge of the school watchmen Ezekiel Ngala 71 and Charles Otiwu 73 who appeared ignorant of what had transpired.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the thieves first broke into the head teacher’s office before going to the book store where several school text books and other valuables were taken.

“We are still questioning the motive of the suspect after we found the padlock of my office was opened and changed with a strange one,” said Mr.Ngoje.

While addressing the press in the school compound the head teacher said that it is the second time the school has been broken into confirming that such an attempt was also made in December last year.

Rongo OCPD Jonathan Kisaka confirmed the incident saying investigation has been launched but suspected an inside job as communication between the school chairman and the head teacher apparently initiated by one of the teachers, one Mr Kenedy Odero lives a lot to be desired.

He asked the school stake holders to avoid speculations to give chance for investigation urging the school heads and managements to deploy energetic security officers instead of having old men in such capacities who could hardly meet the threshold that kind of job requires.
