A Sori woman escaped death narrowly after playing death when her lover stabbed her severally before he committed suicide.

Tobias Okinyi alias Otike, 35, separated with the woman, Everlyne Anyango, 30, on October last year but went to the woman’s house to try have them reconcile.

Sori area Chief Barnabas Majiwa said the woman rejected attempts by the man to reconcile with her leading into a quarrel while her five years old son was in the house.

“The man locked himself in the house, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her on the neck, abdomen and chest,” Majiwa said.

The lady is said to have feigned death and the man thinking his mission was accomplished entered into another room and committed suicide.

Police reports indicated that the lady managed to push the man, struggled to open the door and escaped and dropped dead and feigned death..

Nyatike OCPD Stella Too confirmed the incident.

The man is said to have tied a rope on the roof of the house, thinking that he had killed the lady who lay unconscious on the ground.

Neighbors had to break the door and while searching for him, they found him dangling from the roof of the house’s stitting room.

“The man’s body was taken to Sori Lake Side Hospital’s morgue while the woman was receiving treatment at the same hospital. The shocked son is receiving psychiatrist treatment,” he said.
