Youthful Migori senate aspirant Willies Misare has raised concerns over voter listing apathy which he says risk derailing Mr Odinga’s quest for the presidency.
The Nairobi based lawyer is banking on youths to secure a slot in the race to succeed outgoing Migori senator Ochillo Ayacko.
Speaking when he met a section of Kuria ODM delegates at Kehancha town to drum up his election bid, Mr Misare intensified calls for voter registration which he said woukd be “kety in deciding the fate of the country come August polls.
The aspirant said that they will also ensure that the Kuria region for vote for Raila as their fifth president. Misare also noted that youth leadership was at stakes and encouraged them to register as voters to enable them elect good leaders.
The aspirants noted that youths play a key role in decision making and failing to be enlisted as voters risked derailing their bargaining powers and would only see inept leaders secure elective positions’
He further pointed out that lack of better strategies on civic education from relevant which he said inly comes to play when they are targeting mass registration.
The youthful aspirants not only command massive support from their peers but have also endeared themselves to the electorate with well-crafted manifestos ad are keen on giving veteran politicians a run for their money.
Others in the race are 33 year old Eddy Okech and Mr Billy Mijungu who made an unsuccessful attempt in the last elections are set to face off Nairobi based Holly Edwards Okwoma and Mr Victor Okuna, an electrical engineer who are making a fresh stab into politics.
