Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama has confirmed plans to host Deputy President Williams Ruto in Migori are still underway.

But Kitayama said the April 28 meeting by Ruto was still on.
He said Ruto will visit a church in Isebania town.
“We are still on high preparation for the visit and we plan to host Ruto, a church visit is not a public rally which was banned,” Kitayama said.
He said the final decision to visit Migori will still be with Ruto.
Before rallies were banned, pro-Ruto leaders led by Kitayama and Kuria West MP Mathias Robi were leading preparations for the visit.
They had planned for Ruto to meet Luhya, Suba and Luo members in a closed meeting with a mega rally in Migori town.
“We have already ensured Ruto has met with youths and political activists from the Luo community who said they are tired of backing Odinga who keeps flopping in presidential polls,” Kitayama said.
The legislator hinted that top elected leaders from ODM in Migori who have been supporting the plan.
He said their next move will be to ensure Jubilee win in Kuria in the last two general elections is replicated among majority six populated Luo constituencies.
In last poll Uhuru won in Kuria East and Kuria West constituencies in 2017 general elections whose results were nullified by the Supreme Court, president Uhuru Kenyatta garnered 41,951 votes (65 per cent of the cast votes) while National Super Alliance presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga garnered 21,202 votes (34 per cent of the cast votes) in Kuria.
The two MPs in the region, Marwa Kitayama of Kuria East and Mathias Robi of Kuria West were both elected in Jubilee Party tickets, a major show of community rebellion in Migori and Nyanza region considered opposition and Odinga’s backyard.

Alililililiiiii, welcome to migori, the president in waiting.
