Rongo sub-county police are holding a woman for allegedly murdering her brother-in-law, who is a form three students at Kameji Mixed Secondary School.
Joyce Achieng Omollo, 27, was arraigned at Kamagambo Law Courts where he charged with murder of Alphonse Omondi, 19.
The State counsel asked for the suspect to be held for 14 days to compile their report after completing investigations.
Omondi was rushed to Lwala Community Hospital in North Kamagambo but could not be attended to owing to the degree of injuries he sustained.
He was then transferred to Homa Bay County Referral Hospital but succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
He was stabbed severally on the chest, North Kamwango Sub Location assistant chief Chales Goi said.
Goi said Joyce had complained that the deceased and his mother had ploughed their land right behind her house, the bitter exchange went from verbal to tragic.
He said the deceased had tried to intervene when he was attacked.
