A Migori member of the County Assembly is alleged to have assaulted a County Government roads employee at a construction site in Ntimaru Canaan, Migori County after a dispute over murramming of the road.

Ntimaru West ward representative Francis Magori is accused of having assaulted Benjamin Chacha at a construction site after an alleged dispute on the murramming of the road that the roads employee was inspecting on 7thJuly 2020.

According to Chacha, the accused hon. Magori was called by his ward manager to come and see the murrams that he alleged were not good for the construction of the feeder road and after sometime the accused landed on him with kicks and blows without telling him what the problem was all about.

He said the MCA was called to the site by his manager and started saying that the murrams were of poor quality and started complaining in my presence but the residents of that area told him the murrams were just fine, after some time he started beating me up and assaulted me several times with kicks and blows.

Chacha told press that the accused called many other people to help him assault him in broad daylight as efforts by other lorry drivers, security persons and even the road contractor for the member of county assembly to stop doing that heinous act never bore any fruits as the accused bade for his blood.

He said the MCA called his residents who came with pangas, knives and other crude weapons ready to slaughter me up as he had already hidden a man in one of the vehicles around who had the knife and was ready to slit my throat.

The engineer said residents came in numbers and as he tried to flee, they surrounded and laid him down ready to do what they had been told by their leader.

He later managed to flee the area using a motorbike that one of the good Samaritans around took the initiative to save his life and took him to Kegonga police station to report.

Chacha is now seeking justice as he wants the honourable member of the County Assembly to face justice in all sides.

When contacted, Hon. Magori admitted the allegations saying he is trying to reach out to that family to talk over the matter that is now in public limelight.

He said that he acted out of anger and apologised to the employee who is more enraged by what happened to him and also wanted the two to meet and reconcile something that the employee is afraid of meeting him for fear of more beatings and assaults.

Area OCPD John Losia confirmed the incident saying the MCA is at large.

He said he faces another charge in court and was already issued with warrant of arrest.
