Embattled Migori governor Okoth Obado has chosen to make peace with God by helping put up a multimillion church.

Obado seems to put everything and his power to changing the face of Lwanda Rapogi SDA, right behind his big house in Uriri constituency.

Obado seemed to have read and committed to heart what prophet Haggai said in 1:4: “Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins?

The four storey church in the rural setup shares a fence with the SDA Church elder’s home and once finished will be among the biggest in Migori.

This comes as Obado’s image has been marred with murder charges, alongside his aides, over the death of his girlfriend Sharon Otieno and their unborn baby.

He is also facing corruption charges together with his four children amid EACC investigations against his administration, family and associates.

Apart from building the church, Obado and his wife Hellen have been staunch church choir members and helped produce high end videos in exotic places complete with drone shoots.

A video of the governor singing in one video elicited mixed reactions from the public.
