Migori governor Okoth Obado director of political affairs Denis Orero has denied that the goverbor and the People Democratic Party (PDP) were involved on majority leader changes in the the assembly.

Orero in a statement said Obado or the party was not involved in the May 5 as claimed by some of the MCAs who addressed the press.

“We can categorically say that the governor or the PDP members never took part in the changes of the majority leadership in the assembly, it is sad that some MCAs dragged us in their move,” Orero said.

Separately the new Majority Leader and West Sakwa MCA Nestroy Owiyo and Majority Whip East Kamagambo MCA Shadrack Nyawade who led other ODM MCAs refuted claims in a press conference at the assembly premises.

Nestroy and Nyawade replaced South Sakwa MCA Ouma Ngoro and South Kamagambo Kevins Keke respectively.

“We were elected unanimously, the process was done in the precincts and within the ODM party, it is sad that our rivals called us PDP sympathisers,” Owiyo said.

Nyawade said all ODM MCAs had several meetings to effect the changes and they “have never met with PDP or with the governor in effecting the change, we can say the decision was done by ODM members.”
