A former University of Nairobi student leader has thrown his hat in the Kuria East MP seat on Jubilee Party ticket.

Paul ‘Kiberiti’ Makore said in August 9 polls he will be on the ballot after he stepped down in last polls.

“My ticket is secured and unlike in the last polls I will not step down for any aspirants, we will sojourn all the way to the ballot,” Makore said.

Speaking to Migori News, Makore said he was a student leader in the University of Nairobi and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino took from him when he graduated.

“My main agenda, coupled with experience from student leadership is giving Kuria East voters representation in parliament, we have a MP whose mouth is closed,” he said.

He said he was shocked as Kitayama has never spoke in parliament and has failes to represent issues affecting Kuria East voters.

“Kitayama never speaks in parliament that is the main reason I am on th ballot,” he said.

He said when the community went to State House after 2017, president Uhuru Kenyatta and deputy William Ruto promised them water for irrigation.

“This failed to kick off because leaders in Kuria with heavy tongues, this will not happen again,” he said.

He said the same ‘heavy tongues’ affected Kuria community discourse under the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

He said once elected he will ensure all 64 polling centers in Kuria East will have a borehole drilled under NG-CDF.
