A group of Migori county contractors have written to Director General KeRRA Eng. Mwangi Maingi to investigate two local officers over corruption allegation.

In undated letter seen by Migori News, the group said the two officers should be investigate over gross misconduct and for flouting procurment laws.

They claimed that the two have colluded with a cohort of contractor s and four Migori legislators to form a cartel.

“We have evidence that this is not coincidence but a well chereographed way the two officer work jointly to award themselves contracts through their cronies.” the letter said.

They said the legislators and the two officers are demanding 20-30 per cent as kickbacks for awarding to the contracts.

They said the cartel fails to award contracts to lowest  evaluated bidders, intentionally gives false information to bidders by indicating incorrect cost estimates in the tender documents  in order to mislead non suspecting bidders.

They also manipulate “evaluation process by correcting documents during evaluation, removing supporting documents to disqualify others and failure to dispatch regret letters to bidders who have not won tenders,” the letter read.
