Nominated MCA Esther Onana has led People Living with disability in Migori to condemn the alleged misappropriation of Covid-19 funds.

Addressing the press in Isebania border after a meeting to celebrate 10 years since the promulgation of the constitution in 2010, Onana said their group will be most affected by missing funds.

Onana said the country is looking forward to have all culprits jailed for the crime.

“This will be drawing board in the fight against the pandemic,” she said.

Julius Amoke said that the move will hinder the fight against the pandemic that has caused many deaths and severely affected the world economically.

The two said president Uhuru Kenyatta should take stern move that will ensure the perpetrators of such economic crimes are held responsible and brought to book.

“Corruption and misappropriation of corona funds is a letdown by the fight against the pandemic that has ravaged all the sectors of the economy,” he said.

Their sentiments were shared by Kuria West disability network chairman Newton Nkonye.

“Most of our members could not affect Personal Protective Gears and such news have discouraged us,” he said.

They said those found guilty should be arraigned in court and stern actions taken against them in order to bring sanity in the ministry of health and also at the Kemsa.
