Kuria East MP Marwa Kitayama has commissioned a new multi-million Ntimaru police station to help bring peace at clash prone Kuria and Transamara border.

The new building replaces the old mud walled Ntimaru police station donated by the community ten years ago with Ntimaru OCPD Allyow Ali said it has been helping them.

“Despite the old building being condemned as inhabitable for use by officers, we will leave it standing at the site as a monument. We want to thank the Kuria East NG-CDF team for helping us to put up this new building, “ Ali said

The construction started way back in 2018.

He spoke as the area MP Marwa Kitayama handed over a cheque of Sh1.5 million to boost water and sanitation.

Kitayama said the police station was key being at the border, where cases of cattle rustling have been common.

The law maker was happy that insecurity at the border had reduced due to intensified police patrols.

Mwita Mahanga, the Migori Deputy Governor asked locals not to politicize security matters.

At the weekend, Kitayama issued cheques worth over Sh30 million to various primary and secondary schools.

The money, he said, would go towards improving the school’s infrastructure.

This includes and is not limited to building new modern classrooms, dormitories and laboratories.
