The Kanyawanga High School alumni has set their focus on constructing a Sh15million ultra-modern storey dormitory after sharing the plan with the school.
Speaking to journalists after unveiling the plan, the former students said they had adopted the initiative after realizing that students were not exhibiting stellar performance in Science Subjects.

“We have several projects that we feel should be undertaken but we prioritized the construction of the modern laboratory. The current one facility is in poor state and cannot support proper learning during practical lessons,” Donald Ogallo, the alumni’s Secretary General.
The School had a mean grade of 7.2 in the 2020 KCSE, with the majority of the students recording a dismal performance in Science, Technology and Mathematics.
“We are in the initial phase and we already have a design of the proposed facility. We are endeared to the school and this is the right time to give back,” noted Ken Abuka, the group’s development committee chair.
School Principal Jacob Mbogo lauded the group while calling on alumni groups from other schools to embrace the idea.
