The match that attracted a capacity crowd who thronged the KRA grounds to watch the two football foe play saw Isebania fc seize the coveted trophy.

The 2014 provincial Nyanza region league champions proved their might to seal their victory in the 70th minute of play when Jared Nzire scored the all important goal after inexorably executing a well placed through ball from the midfielder Brian Chacha to beat the Gitunya kipper Laban Maeri with a ringlet right foot effort from a tight angle.

“This tournament has given us a way forward on how we can attack and execute goals from our opponents and we have demonstrated that we can win titles. It’s amazing to win such a team as Gitunya who had a good play all through the games,” said Musta.

On his part Charles Nyange the sponsor of the tournament expressed his gratitude to the teams and the youths who participated in the matches saying it was an opportunity for them to showcase their talents as well as preach peace and unity among the warring communities in the area.

“I think we have achieved our main aim of this tournament since the youths could mingle together and share ideas just as one family,” said Nyange.

The tourney that attracted 8 teams from the area showed the winner awarded a trophy, KSH.24, 000 with the 1st runners up getting ksh.10, 000 playing kits and balls respectively.
