Migori governor Okoth Obado has said the best way to finish his dream for the county is through devolution.
Obado said out of seven aspirants who are seeking to unseat him, he still stands the best chance to safeguard devolution in Migori.

“My rivals should come back after 2022 to allow me complete my two constitutional terms to finish off my projects and vision for Migori county,” he said.

He added: “when a child is born it is advised he suckles both breasts to survive, I have only suckled one breast and will naturally go for the second one next year,” he said.

He said some of his rivals, like former Cabinet Minister Ochillo Ayacko does not have anything to show for time they were elected leaders.

He said recent demonstrations by youths in Ranen and Awendo towns who planted bananas in bad roads were misguided.

“County governments only tackle road opening as most roads maintenance and construction are at national government, we only chip in as a county because some have legislators are not doing their work,” he said.

Obado called for peaceful campaigns ahead of full blown campaigns, insisting he was sure of being re-elected.
