Shock has gripped Lwanda Konyango residents in Nyatike sub-county after a 33 year old man accused of defiling a 7 year old girl was arrested.

The suspect, Calvince Ochieng a native of Homa Bay committed the crime at Kakelo-Kakoth where he was staying with a brother-in-law.

Confirming the incident Kakelo-Kakoth sub location assistant chief Sospeter Oloo said the minor had gone to fetch firewood in a nearby forest when the accused defiled her.

The chief said the victim explained that the suspect threatened her before defiling her.

The child is help at Macalder police Station while the girl was rushed to St. Camillus Hospital in Karungu town for treatment.
