Governor aspirant Okong’o’s foundation pays fees for needy students

The Robert Kennedy Okong’o foundation has increased effort to give back to the society with two disadvantaged getting bursary.

The foundation associated with the Migori governor aspirant Robert Okong’o paid Sh4,000 for each of them completing their fee balance each.

RKO Foundation representative Dickson Kanindo told Migori News that they have been supporting disadvantaged learners including the two who had fees arrears.

“These students have toiled their books the whole year,but kept the faith of not giving up on their dreams that’s why we saw it wise to complete their fee balances ,” he said.

Kanindo stated they paid the fees after the two were contemplating dropping out of school.

“We are doing this because we believe in giving more and more for a better tomorrow, we know the extent some parents go to keep their children in school they do odd jobs and we are here to supplement their work,” said Kanindo.

Peter Ochungo, a parent whose granddaughter benefited, expressed his gratitude to the RKO foundation terming it their life savior.

Ochungo states that his grand daughter have stayed at home for two years because and it hurted him so much but due to his age he was unable to do more .

He expressed their relief from burdens lifted off their shoulders urging the foundation to continue with the same spirit.

Sony Sugar Mixed Secondary principal Edward Omondi described the foundation as a life savior and was grateful for support the students received.

RKO foundation began four years ago and so far supported more than 400 students .

The foundation gave a cheque of ksh 8000,helps clear fee arrears of two needy students since they are disadvantaged.
The foundation is planning on a program boresha maisha unganisha jamii a program that will be targeting ten students per ward over the 40 wards in migori county ,said Kanindo .
