A distraught father from Nyabokarange village have asked the Kuria West police and the children department to help arrest a family that has married off his underage girl.

Charles Orenge Miruka told Migori News over the phone that his daughter Christine Kerubo Charles, 16, and a form two student at Ikerege Mixed Secondary went missing from home on July 15.

“We have located the girl to a family in Nahora village and despite reporting the matter to children office and Kehancha police station they have refused to arrest the suspects,” Miruka said.

He said they reported the matter under OB number 32/16/07/021 at 1738 and attempts to have the family hosting the minor arrested and the girl taken back to school has fgailed.

“Police officers in Kehancha have said there is no time to arrest the suspects and we demand justice for us,” he said.
