Migori town businessman Clifford Mijungu has joined the race for Suna Central Ward seat in Suna East constituency which hosts the county government offices.

Mijungu managed a bar, supermarket and construction businesses in the county and benefited from several tenders in Migori county government.

“I have today formally joined the race for Member of the County Assembly for Suna Central Ward. Am Respectfully and with humility urging our people to rally behind my bid for a more progressive Suna Central,” Mujungu posted on his Facebook profile.

“Under my leadership, we will increase bursary allocations from the current 2,500/- most beneficiaries get to up to 10,000/- per single beneficiary by looking for other funding sources in addition to County Government Allocations. Skewed allocations, favouritism and excluding minority communities will be a thing of the past,” he added.

Mijungu seeks to unseat George Ombori (ODM).

Others aspirants are Samuel Obrien, Baraza Nguka among others.
