Awendo teacher electrocuted, third death in two weeks

A primary school teacher in Awendo sub-county was on Monday electrocuted to death at her house.
The body of Christine Atieno Adongo, a teacher at Ng’ou Primary School was found by her neighbours.

Last week a form three student at Maranda high school was electrocuted in Rongo town while a class three pupil at Ndege Oriedo in Rongo died after being electrocuted in their homes

The death comes barely a week after KPLC employee Solomon Kilonzo warned the public on precautionary measures when using power.

Awendo OCPD Daniel Kinyua said that a neighbor heard her cries for help and arrived at her house late.

“She tried to touch the bathing water on an electric cooker to fill the temperature when she got electrocuted,” Kinyua said.

Her body of the deceased has been taken to Rosewood mortuary for postmortem.
