Over 200 elders from Abagusii community in Migori county today endorsed governor Okoth Obado for re-election in next year’s polls.

The Abagusii community in Migori can reach 60,000 and will form a major swing vote in governor race which has so far attracted seven aspirants.

The elders, women and youth leaders met the governor at his official residence in Migori town and said they were attracted by Obado’s administration of including all ethnic communities in the county.

Charles Agoro commonly known as Mzee Anyona in Migori town led the group as the chairman of Abagusii Community.

“We have pledged our support as the Abagusii community for Obado reelection next year,” he said.

Elders said they were ready to work with the governor to push through development.

Obado as a cosmopolitan county, his government has strived to include all communities living in Migori in his administration.

The governor insisted the moved was “due to my development record and administration which includes all ethnic communities.”
