16 Kameji Mixed students, 24 Migori GK prison inmates test positive of Covid 19- Nyamita

Kameji Mixed Secondary School in Rongo sub-county has 16 students under isolation after testing positive of Coid 19.

County health executive Kephas Nyamita said health officials are keenly following progress at the institution with help from Lwala Community Clinic.

Nyamita also said 24 inmates at Migori GK Prison have also been isolated after they tested positive.

“We are closely monitoring the two institutions to contain the situation through our medical team both in public and nearby private institutions,” Nyamita said.

He was speaking on March 9 when he launched distribution of 4,500 vaccine doses from government which will be the first batch that will target 1,800 medical officers in both private and public hospitals in the county.

Migori county has reported 947 Covid 19 cases since the virus was first reported in the country a year ago.
