Owino said the number comes to a total of 130 students full sponsored students he has helped since he was elected in the last polls.

“The special bursary is done through all four wards in public participation where the first requirement is that a student must have scored over 350 marks, then community members pick the most needy student,” Owino told Migori News.

The legislator said he started the program to push through establishment of professional elites by picking top students from local schools and ensuring they have continuous education with ease.

“Most needy students who performed better in schools and are called in national secondary schools end up in other schools, especially mixed secondary which we will tackle under this scholarship,” Owino said.

This comes as the last week the legislator distributed cheques worth Sh33million.
