The police in Migori County have launched an intensified search of five arrestees that allegedly fought down the police while being transported to a Migori Court.

According to eye witnesses, the five, four men and one woman were being transported in a police van from Awendo to a court in Migori but upon reaching Chuma Mbili, the suspects overpowered the police and ran away into the nearby bushes.

“The police van which was coming from Kakrao stopped at Chuma Mbili where there seemed to be a scuffle between the police and the suspects. The suspects overpowered the police after which they ran into two different bushes as police chase them,” an eye witness said.

Its said that the woman who remained in the police van when police chased after the four suspects, who apparently had handcuffs, took that chance to escape by boarding a motorbike to Migori.

Migori County Police Commander David Kirui has said the police have launched a serious man hunt in Migori County which will go on until the suspects are arrested and brought back to book.

At the time of this writing, none of the suspects is yet to establish the cause of their arrest had been arrested.
