WATCH: ODM SECRETARY GENERAL EDWIN SIFUNA LEADS MPS IN CALLING FOR RESIGNATION OF REBELS FROM PARTY

Our young leaders are beginning to shape the narrative of our nations leadership. Kenya, which has been led by older generations since it’s independence is beginning to take a new turn.

Our young passionate leaders have decided to rewrite history. Through resilience, courage and unity they are starting to make a change. A new regime is most likely to occur with different faces.

These group of young passionate leaders have decided to show the people that we, the younger generation can create a better world for ourselves.

They refused to listen to the narrative of “We are the leaders of tomorrow” because they realized tomorrow will never reach.

They stopped procrastinating and decided it is time to act. To save Kenyans from a repeat of history; leaders promise us change, we elect them and they forget.

This younger generation also seem to have a different way of handling challenging situations. They never back down when challenges come their way they face it courageous with a determination to conquer.

This resilience is a strength not only to them but also the people. For example during the Linda Mwananchi rally in Kakamega, hardly had Sifuna begun speaking when the police threw teargas at the crowd.

The police aimed at dispersing the crowd by causing tension however, Sifuna stood his ground and courageously told the police that the meeting will continue as planned.

This not only calmed the crowd but also build trust on the leaders they are entrusting their lives to. His words also build resilience among the people to stay put even at the threat of the soldiers.

That moment even brought about the realization that this younger generation self-willed and when determined to do something nothing stops them.

Despite the government using the police to indirectly fight opposition, Sifuna and his team never fought back. The police came with violence but they responded with humanity. They expected violence but they chose peace, they decided to show compassion even when they weren’t obligated to.A good sign of the promising leaders we will be lucky if they finally take over. Leaders who not only think about themselves but also of the people.

Acknowledging that paying evil with evil will dangerously affect the people they are trying to protect and fight for they chose peace.

They also knew engaging in the fight will disrupt their focus and might even be a trap with ruin their reputation to the people who believe in them.

These leaders also have shown they can navigate difficult times.

Upon realizing that traps have been set on their way they didn’t stop their journey, they chose an alternative means of transport, arrived their destination and fulfilled their objectives.

The zeal to make Kenya a better place propels their every day ambitions.

These younger leaders are paving way for a brighter future and together with the support of the people I believe we shall make a great difference in the political world.

A world where love, compassion and humanity drive leadership while resilience and courage and our weapons.

If they succeed, we might witness a Kenya where leaders prioritize the people not just power. The journey is far from over but with leaders like these the future looks promising.
