A political standoff between governor Okoth Obado and three MCAs as seen their wards being locked out of bursary allocation.
The three, according to sources in Obado’s office are Richard Solo (North Kamagambo), Joshua Ongoma (East Kamagambo) and Ronald Asiga (Wasimbete).
The three are among others who are not supporting Obado’s re-election bid creating the tension further.
Ong’oma told Migori News at St. Jonathan Primary School in South Kamagambo ward in Rongo constituency that it was unfortunate for political difference between elected leaders to affect innocent children.
“When parents in my ward ask me where their bursary is I only tell them their governor has delayed it because of our political difference,” he said.
But speaking to the press over the claims Obado’s director of press Nicholas Anyuor said delay in issuing bursary has been caused by paper work and money disbursement from national government.
He said the process was not politically instigated as “the process is still ongoing, paperwork is on and will be issued soon after they are finalized.”
