Principal Secretary for Higher Education Collete Suda has urged youths and fresh graduates from universities and colleges to be innovative and create jobs.
Addressing graduands and parents at Rongo University College in Migori County, Suda said innovation will make them become self-reliant and stop them from being dependent on the shrinking jobs market.
“The current job market is competitive and needs a lot of efforts to be innovative, being innovative will prevent youths from being frustrated and jobless,” she said.
She added that white collar jobs have shrunk globally and the current situations across the world need creativity to prosper.
Rongo University Chancellor Mohammed Yusuf Elmi said that graduates need to embrace fresh ideas on the jobs markets and also make the job market more viable for themselves and others.
Rongo University Vice Chancellor Samuel Gudu said that technology is key to job creation.
