Police in Rongo have launched an investigation into the gruesome death of a businessman man.

Joshua Ochieng Obura, 42, was attacked and hacked to death by unknown assailants on Wednesday night at Siala village, Central Kamagambo ward.

Rongo OCPD Peter Kirui said Obura was attacked as he was leaving his house to work in Kisii at 4; 00 am.

“He was hacked to death when his attackers hacked him on the neck,” he said.

He however said that they have launched an investigation into the matter to establish the motive of the assailants as the man was attacked on his door step and nothing was stolen from him.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Rosewood hospital mortuary for autopsy as investigation into the matter continues.
