A village in Migori county is still in shock after a wife inheritor chopped both arms of his lover and gouged off eyes of their son before committing suicide.

Charles Oduor Odoyo, 40, the inheritor committed the heinous act on Wednesday night before committing suicide on Thursday dawn.

The incident happened at Kamgudho 2 sub-location in Uriri sub-county.

Area chief Samuel Owino confirmed the incident to Nyanza News.

“The deceased lived with his lover for over ten years as husband and wife after the death of the victim’s husband, their affair was known in the village,” Owino said.

Villagers said three years ago the couple started having marital problems revolving around extra-marital affair and love triangle which saw them live separately.

“The two stopped living together as husband and wife identified as Rose Aloma with deceased going back to love in a nearby homestead where he was hired as a farmhand,” Owino said.

The son identified as Aboy, 12, at Migori Referral Hospital.

Attempts by Odoyo to get back to her lover failed after he was jilted when Aloma is said to have gotten another inheritor.

On Wednesday at about 8:30pm Odoyo attacked Aloma and the son before disappearing in the night.

Using a panga he chopped the lover’s both arms, attacked her on her legs, chest and face.

“He also attacked the boy gouging off all his eyes,” Owino said.

On Thursday morning a manhunt for the victim found him dead after committing suicide at his boss’ compound

His body was taken to Rapcom Mortuary while his two victims are receiving treatment at Migori Referral Hospital.
