Migori county government executives called for more time from the assembly to defend the record on use of devolution money as impeachment motion against Governor Okoth Obado looms.

Today MCAs expected to question the nine MCAs over stalled projects, corruption allegations and the progress of their ministries.

He said the motion is yet to be officially tabled at the assembly with rumours going round bar stool talk and social media of the impending move after MCAs come back from a long recess.

The calls came after MCAs sat on a kamukunji on Wednesday.

“They did not turn up as they requested for more time to have conclusive answers before the house,” Boaz Okoth, acting speaker and North Kadem MCA said.

He said the motion to impeach governor Obado was yet to be officially tabled in the house terming it as a rumour.

This comes as two nominated female MCAs exchanged blows over the motion in the assembly (READ THE STORY HERE)he said.

South Sakwa MCA Jared Osawa said executives will have to explain where the problem is in managing the administration of the governor.

“We want the amount to be accounted for each project and get explanation why we have a lot of stalled projects,” he said.
