Migori town police have launched investigations over the murder of a boda boda rider by suspected passengers.
The body of the rider was on Sunday morning found dumped near Makanga centre in Suna West section of Migori town.
Police has identified rider as George Okoth, aged 43, from Nyabisawa village.
Oruba location chief Charles Ouma told Nyanza News that the deceased was murdered on Saturday night around 9 p.m.
“He was last seen ferrying two people from Migori town towards Nyabisawa direction before he was found dead,” Ouma said.
He said the killers dumped the deceased motorcycle over 400 meters away from where the deceased’s body was retrieved.
The area chief said the killers neither took Okoth’s mobile phone nor his motorcycle after killing him.
Their motive for the killing has not been established and the rider’s body was taken to Migori Level IV hospital mortuary pending investigations
