Migori county government has rolled out a four day induction of 225 new staff as there are plans to advertise for more jobs this February in a move to boost service delivery.

On Monday, 80 new stuff from the medical department were inducted with more departments expected to undergo the same until Friday at a hotel in Migori town.

Migori County Public Service Board chairman and Secretary David ‘Ocholla and Andrew Ocholla respectively, alongside county Public Service Executive John Kobado oversaw the induction process.

David said the new employees was a major milestone after plans by the board to recruit new staff, manage existing ones and streamline human resource management was curtailed by court process in the last two years.

“We have opened up deficits we had in human resource and we will boost service delivery in the county starting with the health sector which will boost dispensaries services,” David said.

He said the board underwent a rigorous interview process which he said was transparent.

Andrew said they will advertise for more jobs this month and continue with human resource management to ensure service delivery is smooth to Migori residents.

“We have service to deliver to Migori residents as civil servants and we are keen to ensure devolution serves the county,” he said.

Kobado said civil service is a calling and the new staff should strive to be professional in conducting their service delivery and adhere to the law.
