Migori county Bunge La Wananchi caucus have condemned chaos that have rocked political and social functions in Migori
The caucus drawn from across all eight counties have singled out Uriri MP Mark Nyamita and Suna West MP Peter Masara for chaos to rock the county recently.
Speaking in Migori town, the group said chaos that rocked funeral of Caspal Obiero’s funeral in Rapogi a fortnight ago and Mzee Nyainda Odie as a bad example.
Obiero, former aide of ex Migori governor Okoth Obadoo lost his wife and mother in grissly accident and Odie is father in law to Obado.
In both funerals chaos were involved where several people were hurt with police and civilian gun holders shooting in the air.
“We are sad that funerals have been turned into battle fields as police have turned into goons, we will mobilise the community to use stones when proved,” Alex Otieno, chairman of Suna East chapter said.
He said MPs should stick to their role which they sought mandate from voters instead of turning into oversight roles which have been given to MCAs.
Otieno said Masara and Nyamita have been stoking up tension in the county with early governor campaigns and using government and police to stock chaos.
“Those two MPs should do their elected work and leave Migori in peace, we need police to avoid being used to kill Migori people,” Otieno said.
The caucus singled out Interior Security Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and his Permanent Secretary Raymond Omollo to avoid misuse of police and firearms
“This is the last time we are appealing to government to respect our lives and avoid being misused by rebels,” Timon Omiti, the chairman of Rongo Bunge said.
Kennedy Oganga, the speaker of county Bunge said Governor Ochillo Ayacko has been provoked by the two leaders who have backing of state agencies.
“We want to tell government that police in Migori are being misused by these two MPs, we will not hurt and we threaten demonstrations here,” Oganga said.
He said Ayacko is still fulfilling his mandate to voters and the two legislators will not be used by government and police to mitigate against it.
