Awendo MP Walter Owino has thanks Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga after he was appointed Migori party chair.
On Wednesday, the party announced Owino will take over the chairman slot left by the late Philip Makabong’o.
“I want to thank the party leader and members who gave me this opportunity, I am humbled,” Owino said.
He issued the statement to local media outlets in the country
Owino said his main agenda will be to bring unity in the party.
“We will also ensure that the ODM party in Migori is strengthened as we gear towards the next elections,” Owino said.
Migori governor Ochillo Ayacko congratulated Owino on his new role.
“I have no doubt that his leadership will usher in a new era of progress, unity, and prosperity for our party and the people of Migori County,” Ayacko said.
