This former MCA from Nyanza arrested over suspected human organ harvesting

Police has arrested a former nominated MCA from Kisumu assembly in suspicion of being involved in human organ trade.

Police in a statement said the legislator was arrested as they investigated earlier attack this week by members of the public at Chemase Police Post in Nandi County.

Police in Kapsabet arrested former nominated MCA Kisumu, Hon. Carren Atieno Muga.

Muga is the mother of one of the prime suspects of the murder of Enock Kipsang who was beheaded and his private parts chopped off in the Chemase incident.

“She was arrested along Chemelil-Miwani-Kisumu road in a suspected organ harvesting case as she was fleeing her residence for fear of being lynched by agitated members of the public,” police said.

Her motor vehicle make Toyota Harrier was also detained as exhibit at Kapsabet Police Station.

Police are pursuing other suspects.

So far the Deputy Inspectors General Mr. Eliud Lagat (Kenya Police) and Mr. Gilbert Masengeli (Administration Police) held a security consultative meeting withbother senior police officers in Nandi over the incident.

The Chemase incident has forced police to reconsider making police stations centres of excellence in police operations and service delivery.

On January 2 irate members of public invaded the Chemase Police Post and burnt to death, a murder suspect named Victor Kimtai who was in police custody.

Kimtai was accused of being behind a human organ harvesting ring after the murder of Enock Kipsang who was beheaded and his private parts chopped off.

The mob also burnt a police Ford Ranger motor vehicle from Potopoto Police Station

So far police officers on patrol at Chepswerta Market recovered from a tractor Reg. No. KSW 364 make FORD, the National and Kenya Police Service flags that were stolen from the police post.
