Leaders from Wajir have raised alarm over the abduction of Dela Member of County Assembly (MCA) Yussuf Hussein Ibrahim, calling on his abductors to immediately release him.

Speaking to the press, MCAs led by Wajir Speaker Abdille Yussuf said his whereabouts have remained unknown to his family, friends’, fellow MCAs and his constituents.

The leaders said the reason for his abduction is still unknown.

In the ensuing chaos, the abductors also seized the taxi driver’s phone to obstruct any immediate communication but the MCA’s remained in the taxi.

The taxi driver only knew of the true identity of his passenger while reporting the case at the Industrial Area Police Station.

Eldas MP Aden Keynan condemned the incident calling on the police and other security agencies to expedite investigations into this abduction.

“The swift and decisive intervention of law enforcement agencies is essential not only to secure the immediate and safe return of the MCA but also to ensure that those responsible for this atrocious crime are brought to swift justice,” he said.
