Who is the best?

By MN Reporter

To start off, this is a disclaimer this website didn’t carry out the poll which ranked eight legislators in Migori county.

Migori county top most Facebook group, Migori Republican Council [MRC] carried out an opinion poll to rank the best and worst performing legislators in the county.

The poll, which attracted over 1,000 votes and reactions was organised by MRC moderator Wuod Nyamwanda.

The votes were picked by users reactions and picking out the names of the eight legisaltors.

“Congratulations Hon Mark Ogola Nyamita on being voted Top and Best Member of National Assembly 2018 in MIGORI REPUBLICAN COUNCIL [MRC],” Nyamwanda poste on December 19 after polls.

Here are the results

  1. Hon. Mark Nyamita, Uriri- 331 votes
  2. Hon, Paul Abuor, Rongo- 158 votes
  3. Hon, Tom Odege, Nyatike- 124 votes
  4. Hon. Peter Masara, Suna West 124 votes (A tie)
  5. Hon. Walter Owino, Awendo- 54 votes
  6. Hon, Mathias Robi, Kuria West- 40 votes
  7. Hon. Junet Mohamed, Suna East- 21 votes
  8. Hon. Marwa Kitayama, Kuria East- 0 votes

Here is a quick analysis of the results from Migori News desk:

  1. Out of the list, only two legislators are serving their second term: Junet and Robi, whose performance was low. Showing the other, all first term MPs have more impact despite being new in parliament
  2. The poll results also show how legislators invest in their media outlook by relating, not only to journalists but also bloggers to create a buzz.
  3. The poll, doesn’t translate to ground popularaity
  4. We were to carry our own poll on Migori News page, but stopped after this came out
