Police in Migori have launched a manhunt for a jilted lover from Oruba estate in Migori to for burning son to death over alleging falling out with a woman he inherited.

Suna Ragana chief John Okombo the man whose real name are yet to be identified said the seven months toddler ablaze after domestic problem with his wife Beatrice Awuor, 36.

“Since Thursday we have launched a manhunt for the suspect,” he said.

He said the suspect was a shamba boy and capitalized on the woman’s being deaf and dumb to commit the heinous act.

Neighbours arrived late the scene with the charred body of the infant being taken to Migori Referal Hospital morgue.

Residents said since the man was from another community he could not build for the widow a home and buy her land which brought the domestic squabble.

“The man decided to kill his son when he realised he could not marry his lover,” a villager said.
